What do I need to do to get a refund on dental work?

The Endodontist who did my 4 root canals did not complete them. I had 4 abcess teeth all caused by very large cavities, the Dr. drilled a hole down the center of each tooth, he did not remove the decayed pulp or do anything else other than remove the roots of the teeth. I was told that they would perform the entire root canal and then put a filling in %26amp; that I would only need to go to my dentist for the crown. 2 of the filings have come out (they were temporary) and I am beginning to have pain again. I shelled out $5000 to this guy %26amp; am not sure how to go about getting some kind of refund. Since I had the work done two of the teeth have broken (because he drilled a lg filling in half) He also drilled through one of my crowns, that he had not discussed needing treatment, instead of the tooth next to it which was the worst of all my teeth. You can still see the huge cavities in my teeth %26amp; the back half of my molar has completely broke off +the holes where the fillings have come out.

why didn´t he complete the root canals??

I think you should go and see him, and tell him what happened. U deserve and explanation!!!

Another option is that if he recognizes he made a mistake, he pays the cost of the treatment you need, to a new dentist o endodontist u know.

Now, if the temporary fillings have come off is because it´s been a while, and if want to sue that will be a problem, because even if he did a bad treatment, u should have gone to refill that hole. if you left those holes opened for a long time its totally possible ur teeth cracked or have more cavities.
Reply:Return your teeth for a full refund.
Reply:I would see a lawyer about a malpractice suit...
Reply:I'd say talk with a malpractise attorney, you might get more that way!
Reply:I hardly ever recommend this but I would get a lawyer and sue!!! Good Luck
Reply:I'm trying to understand what happened. You had 4 teeth with abscesses. They started root canal therapy. That's where you lost me.

Did you go back to finish the work? Did he not finish because you didn't pay? (Endodonists are very expensive). The fact that he put in temporaries and they fell out means nothing. That's why they call them temporaries!!!!

If you start root canal therapy and simply decide not to finish them is YOUR fault. I would suggest consulting with your general dentist who referred you or consulting with the endodontist about your treatment plan. The fact that they drilled large holes in your teeth is ABSOLUTELY necessary to start or complete root canals.

When teeth fracture, they can become non-restorable and may need extraction.

Go see your dentist is the best advice...not your lawyer.
