I recently tried to explain what bones are to my 3 year old...?

... its so funny cause he walks around telling people "hey did you know I have bones?" And points to a few. Do you know of any good books that help kids learn things like that? He has a Dr. Seuss book that talks about teeth and he loves it. So something along the lines of that.

Get an anatomy coloring book. They have great detailed pics of bones, muscles and organs and labeled well. If you want to keep in intact, you can make photo copys and let him color those. This way he can learn the names of the bones too.
Reply:Just sit down and talk to him and just keep trying he'll get it.
Reply:Heh, reminds me of my three year old. We were talking about bones recently though his reaction was nothing to write about. (More that it was just one of those bits of knowledge that kids his age absorb so easily.)

I can't think of any books, but I do have a Hallowe'en skeleton made out of styrofoam that would probably be perfect as a visual aid.
Reply:Books? Why bother? Order some KFC and let him dissect for himself. Hands-on is much better than some kiddie book.
Reply:There are board books called Look Inside the Body and also Look Inside the Brain that my friend's daughter has. I had to study anatomy for school and have anatomy flash cards that are pretty neat, but be careful which ones you let him view, as they can be a tad graphic/gruesome.
