It started when I was in the 9th grade, I would go to the bath room and brush, brush and rinse, but as soon as I leave the bathroom the odor was present. People would put their hands over their mouth and even today on my job they would give me a mint or candy, I have tried all of this. last year in Novemver I had my tonsils removed. I am afraid to date because of this, I need help, I decided last week to go ahead and let the dentist pull the rest of my teeth, My fathers mother had from gum disease, and everyone of my family members have bad teeth, My teeth appear good but thier is this odor, I have tried Dr Katz products and this don't work. I am so depressed. I have never ever gotten close to anyone, I have'nt dated in years. I need help I would love to have friends and be able to date. I am afraid to even talk in peoples face.
Thanks

I have had this problem for a long time bad beath, help I have tried every tooth paste in sight.?
You should have a complete medical evaluation. Certain systemic illnesses can cause bad breath, and they have nothing to do with your mouth or teeth. Don't have your teeth pulled if they are healthy...that's no solution. Do you have sinus trouble, or bad digestion? These can affect your breath. Someone mentioned diabetes...that's a possibility also. Call your doctor.
Reply:Watch what you eat. Some foods (garlic, etc) can cause you to have bad breath.
Reply:Maybe it is something that you are eating
Reply:it's your toung not your teeth. theres a machine that... well kind of shaves your tounge but it doesnt hurt(can't remember the name of it). that plus mouth wash (i recomend Listerine) and your set. also floss. the stuff that get stuck there eventually smells.
Reply:Don't know bud but good luck
Reply:Get tested for diabetes.
Reply:heh sounds like my but i just have bad teeth... couple years ago father passed away and i kinda went into a depression faze... well only suggestion i got is always carry a pack of winterfresh or juicy fruit gum with you... or ask your doctor you might have a tooth infection or something
Reply:Try gargling with 3% hydrogen peroxide. This will kill the bacteria in your mouth. I use it everyday.
Reply:do u smoke? its probably acid reflex disease the gas goes up to ur mouth often? idk its just a guess but ask ur dentist or brush ur tounge the tounge is where bad breath comes from
Reply:Well you can use mouthwash regularly and when you brush, brush your tongue too.
Reply:Have you tried brushing or cleaning your tongue? That might work
Reply:Don't just brush your teeth but alot of bad breath can be from your tongue....brush it too! Drink more water also....and floss. Flossing prevents bacteria that cause odor from collecting in between your teeth.
Reply:If it is a fruity smell you might have a sinus infection. It could be a symptom for a different problem.
Reply:try scraping your tongue. this is what the Egyptians used to do. you can find a tool for this in the oral section at the store, or just use a credit card or something similar. this can help
Reply:bring mints or candy everywhere you go job, friends house whatever. just always have something to keep your mouth fresh
Reply:Unfortunately, you might need to seek a dentist that might be able to suggest a treatment. There is so much a dentist can do now days. Let's hope that your parents haven't passed the disease on to you. Worse thing is you will end up with dentures. Look at it this way, at least you won't need to worry about it . I have partials...lost 5 teeth that were abscessed all at once. They are not a bad thing. Don't let it discourage you from dating...you will find someone when the time is right for you. Good luck.
Reply:Well it looks like you already know some of the prob... cuz I was gonna say something bout your tonsils. I had a friend who had bad breath %26amp; she even asked me, "Do I have bad breath?" I'd lie %26amp; say no cuz I didn't wanna tell da truth. I found out through her sis that she had to get her tonsils removed. I think that her sis made her get embarassed that I found out how come she didn't have bad breath anymore.
Wish I could help you out w/ your prob... Maybe you just need to talk to your Dr. %26amp;/or dentist. I hope that you are able to get your prob resolved !!!
Btw, she was in hs when she had halitosis too...
Reply:Talk to your dentist honey it sounds like halitosis to me. It is a very treatable condition. Have to talk to a Dr tho. Try the site it might help if not put halitosis in a search engine.... Good luck honey you will be just fine just get it fixed.
Reply:Have you addressed this issue with your dentist? If there is gum disease or bacteria, it will contribute to bad breath. Also, sugar will make the breath smell bad. Don't chew gum or suck mints that have sugar in them. Use sugar free products. Next, don't use mouthwash that contains alcohol because it will only dry out the mouth. Look for product in the drug store that do not contain alcohol and that claims to provide moisture to the mouth. A dry mouth will be odorous. Chewing on parsley freshens breath as well as lemons. Try natural products with natural ingredients such as peppermint. Do no smoke; bush you teeth and use a tongue scraper; floss daily.
Reply:the first thing that you should always do is see a doctor. there are many causes for bad breath besides tooth decay or gum disease. there is gastrointestinal problems and there could be problems with your sinuses or tonsils. do you have a lot of sore throats. try eating parsley sprigs and more yogurt. the yogurt will definitely help with the gastro.
GO TO THE DOCTOR
Reply:after you apply toothpaste to your brush then sprinkle baking soda over the toothpaste and brush your tongue from the very tip to the very back as far as you can get (as close to were your tonsils used to be) even if you gag keep doing this and eventually you will not gag and you will do it each day with no problem...do this after every meal..........if this doesn't work then go to your dentist and have him diagnose your problem.
Goodluck!
Reply:pay attention to what when and how much you are eating. maybe keep a journal of foods eaten and when halitosis seems to be stronger.
do you floss? brushing may not be enough. using those mint floss's (or cinnamon) leave a fresher taste. also I believe it is Aquafresh that has this extreme clean toothpaste and it is GREAT!!!
maybe consider medical doctor? other issues may be going on internally that create this issue (acid indigestion? stomach issues?)
Reply:Diet can be one of the main causes of bad breath believe it or not.
I used to always have bad breath and always skipped breakfast. I found that by midday I had bad breath. I tried eating a healthy breakfast (and it has to be healthy, fruit with a bit of porridge) and it really helped. Try avoiding fried food and skipping meals and snacking. It worked for me.
Also sometimes fur on the tongue can be a cause. You can buy a tongue scrapper and use it every day this helps too.
Reply:It sounds like you suffer from Chronic Halitosis. This is a true condition which has various causes. I would direct you to the following site which has a huge FAQ section. Perhaps you may find the cause of your bad breath here:
http://www.tau.ac.il/~melros/faq/index.h...
I would also see a medical doctor in addition to your dentist. There are many medical causes for halitosis. Godd luck and I hope this helps!
Reply:Go to the doctor, see if it's a stomach problem or sinus infection. liver and lung problems affect your breath too. Brush your teeth (if you have any) with an electric toothbrush twice a day, use dental floss (I use floss on a stick) twice a day. Get a tongue scraper . Maybe an oral irrigator that blasts cold water between your teeth and flushes them out? I use Dentyl ph mouthwash it works. If you can't get that where you are, get an alcohol free mouthwash , alcohol dries out your mouth and makes the problem worse. Suck cloret mints. Chewing parsley can help and drinking peppermint tea.
Reply:you should try getting your colon cleansed because if your colon isnt clean it could cause bad breath you hsould also go to a doctor to see if theres something wrong with your saliva or tongue
Reply:melaucca toothpaste, kills all germs never have moring breath...u can also use 3% peroxide as a mouth wash kills all germs is safe and whitens teeth...good luck
Reply:You may have an internal problem, you should see your internal medicine doctor. You could also start with having your teeth cleaned by a dental professional twice a year, your may have a periodontal disease and a specialist may have to treat your gums. This may be costly, but you'll have better breath and your teeth in the long run.
