Anyone-Please-what do you think of my situation-especially Americans-and any immigrants I welcome your input?

I am a widowed white American woman who has an 8 %26amp; 9 yr old to raise. We have lost our health insurance due to hubbys death. I went to try and get Medicaid until I can get a job and insurance. I was turned down because I own a home-still paying mortgage-but pay city, county, state and school taxes and have for 18 yrs. I was in Medicaid office with 21 immigrants of Mexican and Guatamalan discent and was told reason they get is because they have had babies born in this country and are entitled to this help. Do you think this is wrong-unfair-predjudicial on my behalf???


Now my son was kicked in the chin-broke 2 front permanent teeth, and also kicked in scrotum which needed a $85 Dr. check and this kid and mother are from Haiti and she is refusing to pay for dentist or dr. bill and cannot get any thing without taking to court. The only relief I have is the son has a battery charge against him. What is wrong with America???

Wow that is So Messed up, but the only advice I could give you is to talk to a lawyer to see what could be done. You sound like your in a bad situation, ask around for some pro bono lawyers.


And this is a perfect example of why many Americans are getting fed up, when we don't take care of our own there is A Big Problem. I would start calling,emailing, writing letters to my Representative, news papers, local elected officials. (anyone and everyone)

Reply:I think that anyone without health insurance should qualify for health insurance through the state.





I would have been a smart as$ and told them I had babies born in this country also. I dont think they can turn you down because you own a house, I would check that out a little more.
Reply:I am sorry to hear this. I am a legal immigrant myself and disagree with those illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes and still want to get the benefits of social security. The majority of illegal immigrants do pay taxes, though. I seriously hope everything gets going better. God Bless.

Reply:One thing you need to be with any government agency,is persistent.Just because you were turned down once doesn't mean it has to stay that way.Keep after them,find out what you need to do in order to get it,make them show you ways to help them to help you.Don't just walk away state your case,be the squeakiest wheel they ever heard,and lots of good luck to you hon..
Reply:Then you're in the wrong office.....because I know US Citizens who own homes, and get Medical. You need to speak to someone else. You should also be receiving SS benefits for all three of you.

Reply:You should be receiving SS because of the loss of your husband. Does your state have any health care for uninsured children? I am very sorry to hear about your loss and predicament.
Reply:When you are born on american soil, you are an american citizen with all the benefit that comes with your citizenship including medicaid if you qualify for it. Just a question, would you have felt better if the kid who kicked your son was white american like you and still did not pay anything?





Now let me answer you question, what is wrong with america is people like you, who think that just because the are white it entitles them to anything before any other races.





Sure it is not fair that with minor children and widowed you can't get any medical help, but just because because those american babies born form emmigrant mothers are eligible for the help that you don't get or the fact that irresponsible woman (who happens to be haitian) is not doing what she is supposed to do, does not mean that there is a problem with american, at least not there, keep looking and come back and ask the question again.
