The notorious First tooth...any advise?

Two weeks ago we took our three month baby girl to the a%26amp;e as she suddenly, for no apparent reason, started a very high pitched screaming after sleeping for ten min...it didn't last more than a few minutes but as she had been a bit grumpy and pulling her right ear for a couple of days we decided to take her in.

We saw a great Dr who spent a lot of time checking her thoroughly and he couldn't see any signs of infections or anything but he did find three teeth at the bottom and one at the top on their way out and up so he said to give her paracetamol morning and evening....she is very grumpy in the mornings before the paracetamol and she rubs her face and pulls her ear still...has anyone else experienced this with their teething babies...pls advise! x

The notorious First tooth...any advise?
When my son started teething we found that although the teething rings worked, they didn't stay cold for too long. We got him this instead:

you can put anything in it, and we froze everything - ice cubes, bananas, berries. I even put baby food in an ice cube tray and put those in it. His gums were soothed and he kept himself busy with it for nice long stretches of time!
Reply:They have great teething rings that are filled with a non-toxic gel-like substance and you put them in the freezer. One your baby starts to fuss, give her one to chew one. The coldness of it soothes the pain very well.
Reply:Yeah... she'll get thru it. Just watch those teeth if you're breastfeeding!!!
Reply:For sure my friends niece had teething problems at almost 4 months old and as a mother she was freaking out wildly so plenty of cuddles mayby warm soft sucker (cloth) to suck on will help ease it
Reply:The teething rings r great you can also try Bonjela which is a teething relief gel you rub into the gum. There is also SM33 this is usually for bubs 6mths + but my chemist said if they have already cut teeth this is fine so check both products out with your health care professional first.

Something hard to chew on is good, 3mths might be too early but "rusk sticks" r good and my daughter loved a carrot from the fridge has the same effect as the cold teething rings just don't leave her alone with it.

Good luck
Reply:Yes my daughter is now 5 months. I use prodol drops and vidol powder. It does not have any effect. The prodol makes the gums numb. Just find out if you can use it on the little one at the pharmacy.
