I have flown twice in 6 months, both have coused me severe pain in my tooth.off to oz in 3 weeks help!!?

I have a brace fitted, on my top teeth, which is where pain starts and moves to the lower. After 1st flight believed my vanity may be the reason, but my orthodentist says no.I have been to my dentist and had xrays and nothing shows up. been to a private maxomillan dr and he says it is deferred pain, and it is actually coming from my top tooth, flew yesterday(soton to dublin and back) and thought my face was going to explode.Read on a site today that a diver had similar problems and needed root canal treatment and crown, as it was causing same symptoms and they found she had a fractured tooth. It appears diving, flying has the same affect on the teeth due to the pressure and makes the teeth expand. I am going to Austrailia in 3 weeks to spend Xmas with my brother and am desparate to find out if there is any way that this fabulous trip can become something i'm not dreading. I thank you for any suggestions you may have, is there time for me to have this treatment and still be safe to fly?

It's actually quite likely to be pressure in your ear canal which is causing you to feel pain in your jaw/teeth. This is quite common.

Use earplugs next time - try Mack's pillow Soft silicone or a specialist flying ear plug. See link below.
Reply:it is safe to fly, you will probably just be in pain.

if your dentists said they couldn't find anything, i would trust them. at least you had it checked out :)

otherwise it could be sinus pressure causing your teeth to hurt.

i maybe would take some mild pain medication before the flight.

good luck!
