Low grade fever 18 Mth old cutting upper teeth?
That%26#039;s an old wives tale. What do teeth have to do with fevers? Fevers while cutting teeth are usually from coincidence, because around the age they start cutting them is about the same age when your baby gets out more or starts day care or is learning to play around other children. You said other kids are sick? That%26#039;s the culprit! But no, you don%26#039;t need to go to the dr. for a low-grade fever. The reason you get a fever is that it is your body%26#039;s way of killing the germs trying to make you sick, so I wouldn%26#039;t even give Tylenol for a VERY low grade fever (unless he acts like he feels bad or uncomfortable), just let his body do what it is supposed to do. Only take him to the doctor if the fever gets worse, doesn%26#039;t get better after a few days, or if you see symptoms of an infection, like his ears or sinuses.
Reply:Low grade fever is pretty common when cutting teeth. My first got a fever each time...my second doesn%26#039;t.

He/she%26#039;s OK.
Reply:With a low grad fever, it is a good possibility it is just teething.
Reply:Those first two upper teeth were especially hard on my son. His gums bled, he ran a fever(100-101), he was cranky too. I use those teething tablets and motrin. They seem to help more than others. Does is cry and push you away when you feel inside his mouth? Check to see if his top teeth are coming through. If he has a runny nose, then it is probably due to his teeth as well. My son has been cutting his stomach teeth in for 4 weeks, and has had a runny nose the whole time. It is weird how teeth can be connected to so many other problems. Hope this helps... Try and let your son suck on a popsicle or froze waffle to help his discomfort.
Reply:I would say it sounds like teething is the culprit.
Reply:My son does that when he gets a tooth. His fever only lasts a day. You don%26#039;t have to take your baby to the doctor for a fever. Just give him infant ibuprofen if it gets too high and watch for other symptoms.
