Has anyone ever had a stitch left in their gum after teeth extraction? the gum is growing over the stitch, is?

ITS BEEN 17 DAYS SINCE I HAD STITCHES PUT INTO MY GUMS FROM MY WISDOM TEETH BEING REMOVED. THE GUM IS GROWING OVER THE STITCH. I DON%26#039;T KNOW IF THE DR. LEFT IT IN ON PURPOSE OR JUST FORGOT IT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Has anyone ever had a stitch left in their gum after teeth extraction? the gum is growing over the stitch, is?
they%26#039;re probably dissovable stitches which can take up to 12 weeks to FULLY dissolve but you should just call to conifrm they are dissovable don%26#039;t just assume. Doctor%26#039;s don%26#039;t often make those types of mistakes but you may have needed a follow up that he thought he mentioned so call to double check.
Reply:You need to call your dental office and let them know that the stich is still there in case it needs to be removed. Don%26#039;t wait too long so no problems will arise.
Reply:He did not foget!! Go back %26amp; have it removed!! Doc W
