well sat my teeth were killing me sun my teeth were killing me and lip got swollen can i couldnt go 2 dr. until mon ok so mon i woke up whole left side of face was swollen and i went to dr. and they fixed my abses ok the operation is not over yet he just cleaned it out yesterday and i have to keep this hole in tooth 4 1 week then he is going to clean it a second time and put in a temp filling and 3rd week he is closing it up 4 good. I had a real bad one so thats why such a long time well anyway i woke up today my face is still swollen i look like i got a golfball in cheek and i look like i got punched in eye ok pain went away and a lil swelling but since i have missed 2 days of school i have 2 go tomorrow and i dont feel like having the question who did u fight with 1000 times so how do i reduce swelling
How do i make my swelling do down by tomorrow from my abses???
Try applying warm compresses and taking Motrin/Ibuprofen 200mg three times a day. This should help the swelling. Also you should be on antibiotics, these will help the swelling. You could have your parents contact the school, tell them whats happening, and get your work to do at home.

What happens after the legal work?
Hi, I recently got braces sometime ago and after a few mo. of having them, i felt fine ( after my teeth were moved maybe a mm in all) and I told my dr. I wanted him to take them off because I started getting bad migraines and grinding my teeth really bad, not to mention i couldnt chew my food anymore with it hurting and I was developing a very bad speech impetement that I had never before had. I just wanted braces because I had one tooth misaligned (you couldnt even tell, im just a perfectionist) and He refused to remove them for some reason he could not give. I started getting scared but like anyone else would, I put my trust in my dr. and continued going hoping for some kind of magnificant outcome. Everytime I went he never directly answered my questions about what he was doing and although I was hurting, he continued to make more adjustments. In the end, He wound up admitting that he just wanted to "try something" and that he messed me up, BUT, he said he didnt mean to and would not

I am a widowed white American woman who has an 8 %26amp; 9 yr old to raise. We have lost our health insurance due to hubbys death. I went to try and get Medicaid until I can get a job and insurance. I was turned down because I own a home-still paying mortgage-but pay city, county, state and school taxes and have for 18 yrs. I was in Medicaid office with 21 immigrants of Mexican and Guatamalan discent and was told reason they get is because they have had babies born in this country and are entitled to this help. Do you think this is wrong-unfair-predjudicial on my behalf???
Now my son was kicked in the chin-broke 2 front permanent teeth, and also kicked in scrotum which needed a $85 Dr. check and this kid and mother are from Haiti and she is refusing to pay for dentist or dr. bill and cannot get any thing without taking to court. The only relief I have is the son has a battery charge against him. What is wrong with America???

Wow that is So Messed up, but the only advice I could give you is to talk to a lawyer to see what could be done. You sound like your in a bad situation, ask around for some pro bono lawyers.
And this is a perfect example of why many Americans are getting fed up, when we don't take care of our own there is A Big Problem. I would start calling,emailing, writing letters to my Representative, news papers, local elected officials. (anyone and everyone)

Can you tell me what the results of this MRI mean? Help!?
Flair images show mild to moderate scattered foci of T2 hyperintense signal in the cerebral white matter in the corona radiata and centrum semiovale. The largest focus is in the right parietal corona 8mm. Finds are non specific most likely chronic microangiopathic change. There is a mild signal brightening along the frontal horn margins, but no evidence for colosal, brainstem or cerebellar lesion. The pattern is not strongly suggestive demyelinating involvement, but clinical correlation advised given the young age of this patient.
No evidence of pathological enhancement. Major arterial segments are open and sinuses and mastoid air cells are clear.
My syptoms are occasional headaches with nausea.
One time woke up with throbbing in right ear which lasted all day. Went to the dr. he told me it was because I grind my teeth while I sleep.

My new doctor's nurse practictioner could not tell me what the MRI means however they have referred me to a neurologist.

Seeing a neurologist is a good idea. S/he will order a set of blood tests to determine whether there is evidence of infection, inflammation, or MS. The conditions listed above are all treatable (and Lyme is curable).

A Neurologist will have men of treating this and should be able to repair this damage over a period of time. It will likely depend on you and your body as to the length of treatment required.
This should most definitely be follow up on and you should continue treatment, failure to due so could result in loss of motor function, speak and other problems.
I do not want to alarm you but you have asked a question that is not easily answered without giving you the honest truth.

Should I take my two year old to the dentist?
I took my 2 year old to Dr for regular check and she said with so many teeth it is time for her to go to the dentist.I am a little worried about this because I do not want them to use those filthy tools .I read a while back in the news dentists tools and the water that comes out to clean thier mouth has alot of bacteria on them.Can I ask the dentist to wash thier hands and use freshly cleaned intsruments first, and if he does not can I leave and get my mooney back so I could take her to different one? Does anyone else take thier two year old to dentist?

I have no doubt that there are dentists who do not follow sanitary procedures, but I truly believe they are in the minority. If you decide to take your baby to a pediatric dentist, which is actually a very good idea for a child, ask to go in and look at how things are handled in the office. Any reputable dentist will allow you to look at how they run their office, because they will be following good procedures. They turned brown. she was admitted in to the hospital to have white caps put on them. While at the dentist, they used bubble gum flavored gloves. They also have bubble gum flavored gas! The one my daughter went to has small TVs in the ceiling right above the kids chair. They also show Disney movies, and have video games and toys in the waiting area. In most states if your child is on medicaid it is required by law to take your child to a dentist check up by age 2. I have never heard of a dentist not washing tools or their hands. Childrens dentist seem to be more aware than soemof the older dentist "we" seen as children. My daughter was 2 1/2 when she went and now she knows to becareful not to hit her teeth. and she now loves to brush sometimes 6-7 times a day!

Nowadays dentists wear disposable gloves like any medical professional. All instruments are sterilized so there won't be any chance of bacteria on them. You can get the dentist to explain as he goes along and you can ask questions. Of course you'll be in the room so your child isn't afraid. When you make the appointment, why don't you ask your questions at that time?

You can get the dentist to explain as he goes along and you can ask questions. Of course you'll be in the room so your child isn't afraid. When you make the appointment, why don't you ask your questions at that time?

I recently lost my job and my private medical care so had to use a cheap dentist when I got tooth ache and fount one in the local paper.
I went to his surgery but it was his house and had all the equipment so seemed ok, he was a big African doctor called Dr Jumbingowali and was really friendly..
When i was getting my teeth done and had my mouth open he was eating his lunch and ate sandwiches with one hand and did my teeth with the other hand. I could feel bits of his sandwich fall in my mouth but he lent over and a bit feel out his mouth into mine and i accidentally swallowed it.. I felt sick
should I report him, I have to go back in 5 days and dont want to thou? what shall i do ??

You might even get compensation for what this foul person has done. He could be committing fraud or even practising illegally. You are lucky he didn't sedate you or even worse do something beyond imagination.
Go and get it done on the NHS.

- Would I go back to him again; you do what you got to do and what you can afford.
- Should you report him; do you really think it will do any good? Were you harmed, can you prove it? Most likely not.
The moral of the story is you pay for what you get. You went to a cheap dentist so you got cheap treatment. It was a risk, but you didn't have the money to afford a better dentist. Next time you have a dental problem you know who NOT to contact.

Relief for ear infection??
Monday I went to the hospital (being Easter Monday didn't know if any dr's office would be open) because I thought I might have an ear infection in my right ear...Turns out the dr said I had fluid behind my ear and just keep taking my cold meds (had a bad cold for a week now) and just wait it out. Wednesday I went to the walk in clinic because my left side was sore now and not only was it my ear but my jaw...I wasn't even sure if it was an ear infection or a tooth issue at that point. The dr gave me 2 prescriptions at that point...Penicillin because my throat was all red and my ear drops (Locacorten Vioform). I tried going back to work last night (fast food restaurant) and found myself in a lot of pain .. I guess the drops make my ear sensitive to sound.. I have to use these drops for 5 days too.
Is there anything I can do to help with this so that I can still work but not be in so much pain???

I've had fluid in my ear many times. And being half deaf in the first place, it is very uncomfortable. The doc is right. You wait it out. He gave you the same things I was always given. Within a week or so, it should feel better. But yeah, cold meds, might help ease the pressure some. But get an excuse for work, you body needs to rest.

Reply:OOh... I know how that can ache. The best remedies are: warmth and decongestants. Pseudoepherine (sp?) is cheap, safe, and non-drowsy. It's job is to dry up sinus/nasal/ear passage fluid. Ironically, you should drink a lot of h20 with all these medicines (that's including your penicillin) Find it in the store, or generic, brand for lowest cost.
And the warmth -oh baby - it's a major comfort. Invest in a heat pad (trust me... eventually everyone needs a heat pad!), or place a washcloth in the hottest h20 you can stand and then on your ear/jaw. Then, to keep this warm, lay head on soft pillow, sore side down. The gravity also helps relieve the pain and gives the fluid a chance to drain, if it can.
And that's my 2 cents worth.
Oh, yeah... my 'hat's off to you' for wanting to show up when you're struggling with such discomfort. That's what real men do. (I'm presuming... you are a man, right?) Right on.
